The Banshees of Inisherin

if you enjoy a lot of nothing with a lot of room for your own feelings and beautiful scenery then this is the film for you! there's a level of humanity in this film which reminds me why I love independent films.

Booksmart

this is the best coming-of-age film of my generation. perfectly distils the chaos and intensity of high school with genuinely funny jokes, layered characters and some much needed representation.

Cat Person

i'm not sure what was worse: Nicholas Braun saying "good girl" or the third act

Aftersun

it's scary how accurate this film gets the feeling of being that awkward age, brought back some memories i thought i had repressed!

Rye Lane

i loved it! i love the way it was shot. i love the chemistry between the main characters. i love the structure. i love the music. i love the editing. i love London. i love it.

Nomadland

awards season really sucks the life out of filmmaking and this years token misery porn is Nomadland.
